We’re James and Sara Dietz, the power (washing!) couple behind Scrub Bros.

We met at Texas A&M in 2016 and got married about a year after we graduated. James was a teacher at our parish school in Sugar Land, with a family history of small business ownership. Sara was an event planner, first for a national non-profit and then for local churches on a contract basis. Our oldest daughter was born in 2021, and our second was born in 2023. By the beginning of 2024, we knew something needed to change. While we each loved our careers, the long-term growth potential just wasn’t there for either of us, and we hoped to purchase a home and welcome at least one more little one into our family. So we took a step that felt radical: James walked away from his beloved classroom, bought a pressure washer, and made his first sale. And so Scrub Bros. Power Washing was born!

From day one, we’ve operated on the premise that beauty can change the world, and that the change begins with each of us. It is a joy and a privilege to partner with southwest Houston homeowners and business owners to restore the natural beauty of this vibrant community. Since starting the business, we’ve welcomed that third little one–another daughter!–and grown as a couple and a family. We’ve laughed and cried and hoped and prayed and watched in awe as Scrub Bros. has grown from two brothers in an old pickup to a multi-crew operation that supports our family while also allowing us to give back to the community that we love so dearly.
